Emily joined Pacific Whale Foundation in 2022. As Research Technician in Australia, Emily will assist with fieldwork and UAS data processing. She has a Bachelor of Animal Ecology from the University of the Sunshine Coast. For her honours thesis research, she assessed the feasibility of consumer grade drone photogrammetry for monitoring humpback whales. She has worked as a turtle conservation officer in Queensland for the local government and as field lead in South Australia, measuring southern right whale body condition and behaviour using drones with Aarhus University and Great Australian Bight Right Whale Study. Emily has previously volunteered for Cetacea Ecuador, Alaska Whale Foundation, and the Marine Mammal Research Program at University of Hawai’i.
