Book one of our Tours

Your private charter is staffed with a U.S. Coast Guard certified captain and Certified Marine Naturalist, all of whom hold graduate or undergraduate degrees in marine biology or related sciences and undergo continual professional training on wildlife behaviors and biology, Hawaii’s marine environment, and local geography and culture. All crew members are certified in First Aid, oxygen administration, and CPR for adults, children and infants and are certified lifeguards.

PacWhale is a proud member of the Hawaii Ecotourism Association and is a Certified Sustainable Tour Operator. From following strict wildlife viewing guidelines to using reusable or compostable plates, cups and utensils — we work to ensure that all operations are as environmentally friendly as possible.

Boats to boast about

We have invested in the most modern and environmentally-sound catamarans on Maui. Our vessels feature SmoothCat technology for an ultra-comfortable ride and run on energy-efficient, low-emissions engines. Ocean Guardian and Ocean Odyssey now run on 100% Pacific Biodiesel fuel and we are strongly committed to converting all vessels to run on this much cleaner-burning fuel that is free of fossil fuels. We developed and outfitted all of our vessels with Whale Protection Devices, the first devices in the nation for commercial vessels that guide whales away from propellers and running gear.

Take a tour of our many vessels and their amenities.

Cuisine, cocktails, and concerts

We serve sustainably produced, locally sourced food from award-winning Three’s Catering, including Maui Cattle Company beef, O’o and Kumu Farms produce, and only sustainably sourced seafood. From a delicious, freshly prepared and grilled BBQ lunch to sunset Pupu or a five-course dinner, we’re dedicated to delivering quality menus tailored to your needs.

We feature a broad variety of alcoholic drinks including local Maui Brewing Co. beer, wine, tropical cocktails and other mixed drinks. If you have particular brands of alcohol that you’d like for your group, we can easily accommodate your request.

Having been a part of Maui for almost 40 years, we have developed a diverse list of professional musicians and performers that we can utilize for your event, depending on your budget and the type of music or performance style you desire.

Thank you so much for everything! It was all perfect

For us, a private charter with the Pacific Whale Foundation was the perfect venue for a wedding ceremony… We really wanted the venue to be creative, different, unique and above all, private… We found the privacy of being on the boat with only our guests made it very comfortable and we were so excited to give our guests some of the their fondest memories ever.

The fact that we used Pacific Whale Foundation gave us a great feeling knowing that we were doing our part to help support the Foundation’s efforts and research. We can’t say enough good things about the Captain and Crew, they were so perfect! They were knowledgeable, friendly, patient and full of Aloha spirit. They were so much fun with all of us.
