For those customers looking for a less crowded snorkel adventure, PacWhale Eco Adventures offers you our Deluxe Lanai Snorkel experience!
How would you like to snorkel at pristine sites off both Maui and Lanai coastlines with minimal people? Look no further! PacWhale Eco-Adventures Deluxe Lanai Snorkel Experience runs at half-capacity aboard our 65 ft, double deck catamaran, Ocean Quest, giving you plenty of room to spread out while snorkeling, as well as store your personal belongings and move around the vessel throughout the tour. Be ready for prime, early morning action!
While you enjoy a delicious hot breakfast along with juices, hot coffee and tea, we’ll cruise up from Lahaina Harbor to our first snorkel site, Mala Wharf. Offering one of the healthiest reefs on Maui, known for green sea turtles and plentiful reef fish, you’ll be in the water quickly and able to explore on your own or join one of our Certified Marine Naturalist on a guided reef tour.
After your done snorkeling at our first location, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as we cruise over to the rugged, mostly uninhabited coast of Lanai for the second round of underwater exploration. Known as one of the world’s top ten snorkel locations, Lanai offers stunning reefs and plentiful marine life. Wild dolphins such as acrobatic spinner dolphins, playful bottlenose dolphins and spotted dolphins frequent the bays and offshore areas of Lanai, so keep your eyes peeled for these majestic and often-sighted marine mammals.
Once out of the water, you’ll be treated to a freshly prepared BBQ lunch, cold refreshments and alcoholic beverages for those 21 years and older before we make our way back to Lahaina.

Pacific Whale Foundation advocates for the use of protective clothing and reef-safe sunscreen to help protect fragile coral reefs and to promote a healthy ocean environment. We support the statewide ban on sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate and, beginning November 2019, we are moving from encouragement to enforcement and instituting our own ban onboard PWF vessels of sunscreens containing: oxybenzone, octinoxate, avobenzone, avobenzine, homosalate, octisalate, octocrylene, and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate in order to alleviate any additional stress on coral reefs. When buying sunscreen, it is important to read the ingredient list, as the term “reef safe” is not regulated and can be used as a marketing device. Choose sunscreen that is non-nano zinc oxide based, like those found in our Ocean Store. Mahalo for helping us protect the ocean.
