Register Early and Save $10 on Run for the Whales Entry Fee

Runners and walkers can save $10 off their entry fee for Pacific Whale Foundation's Run for the Whales by registering before October 1st.  

The Run for the Whales will take place on Saturday, February 5, 2011 in South Maui. There's a 5K Race for Runners and Walkers, plus a Half Marathon Run on ascenic ocean-view course in Wailea and Makena. For kids, there's a 2K Keiki Run.

There are also special prizes for groups of three or more walkers or runners who complete the course together as a "Competition Pod." Costumes are welcomed in this category.

The Run for the Whales is one of Maui's best attended running events. Last year, more than 700 runners participated, including Maui residents and visitors from around the world. The race includes professional chip timing for all the adult running events, a post-race continental breakfast and a free Maui Whale Festival t-shirt for all runners. Medals and lei are awarded three deep in all categories, including the overall top male and female categories in each race.

The Run for the Whales a benefit that supports marine education programs for Maui schoolchildren. It's also part of the Maui Whale Festival, a month-long series of events in celebration of Maui's wintertime residents, the humpback whales.
