Go Green for St. Patrick's Day: Volunteer at Haleakala National Park

03/17/2012 - 1:00pm - 6:30pm
Haleakala National Park
Is a MWF event:

Do something "green" on St. Patrick's Day -- spend your day as part of a volunteer team at Haleakala National Park. Pacific Whale Foundation will host a group of volunteers to pull invasive pine trees, with time for a visit to the summit and a picnic lunch. In exchange for your efforts, you'll receive a free tote bag and the satisfaction of joining in efforts to protect Maui's unique environment. Warm clothes, long pants and closed-toed shoes are required. Bring water and lunch. Participants get to experience the park for free. Free transportation is provided.  Participants meet in front of Pacific Whale Foundation's Ocean Store, located in the Harbor Shops of Ma'alaea at 1:00 pm or at 1:30 pm in the parking lot of Tavares Community Center, in Pukalani. Reservations required. Please call (808) 249-8811 ext. 1.  Learn more about Pacific Whale Foundation’s Volunteering on Vacation program at http://volunteersonvacation.org.
