Volunteer On Vacation (Maui Residents Invited Too!)

Join the growing worldwide trend of "voluntourism" by participating in the Volunteering on Vacation program offered by Pacific Whale Foundation with support from the County of Maui Office of Economic Development and the Hawaii Tourism Authority.  Click here for more information about our Volunteering on Vacation program!
 
Whale Day, The Great Whale Count, and Run for the Whales

Help us with Whale Day, Saturday, February 16th, 2008 – our biggest event of the year! Volunteers help with the parade, security, keiki carnival, whale regatta, silent auction and the store and the food booths. Volunteer for 3 hours and get a free t-shirt!

Help us track Maui’s whale population! Spend the morning of Saturday, February 23rd, 2008 with our researchers observing and counting whales.

Like to run? Or just watch other people run? Our annual Run for the Whales is Saturday, February 9th, 2008.   Assist with the race and get a free breakfast.

Community Outreach
                                                                                                         
Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge and love of the ocean with the public? Pacific Whale Foundation volunteer positions are available at: beach stations, whale lookout points, and our interpretive center to answer questions and share information about how to better protect our whales and marine environment.  

Ocean Ambassadors

Want to help Maui visitors and promote stewardship of the ocean? Be an Ocean Ambassador at one of our harbor stores or on one of our boats! Ocean Ambassadors engage customers, promote conservation, and encourage involvement in the Pacific Whale Foundation’s mission.  
                                             
Education Volunteers

Enjoy working with children? Help us deliver marine programs to children throughout the year. Volunteers assist in our vacation camps and during our school program whale watches. A priceless opportunity to pass along education and conservation information to kieki.  

Membership and Retail Department Volunteers

Help in our membership department putting together mailings and membership packets. Or help the retail department assist customers and put out new merchandise.
