Experience the enchantment of Maui's velvet night sky on this stargazing cruise with Pacific Whale Foundation Eco-Adventures. Here in Hawaii, the most remote island chain in the world, you'll experience brilliant stars from an optimal vantage point.
This cruise is narrated by special guest Harriett Witt, an international award winning astronomy writer and speaker, known for her entertaining and informative commentary on the stars. Her writing has been featured in publications such as Sky & Telescope, and Spirit of Aloha. She has been giving colorful and informative presentations on astronomy in Hawaii since 1990 and teaching "Making Friends With the Night Sky" classes at Maui Community College since 1992.
While listening to Witt's intriguing presentation, enjoy a tantalizing array of appetizers including: local style BBQ grilled Maui Cattle Company beef sticks marinated in teriyaki sauce; Hawaiian-style boneless, skinless chicken strips marinated in a special sauce; a fresh vegetable crudite platter with Maui Onion dip; baked spinach dip with crackers; seasonal assorted island fruits; and a Hawaiian Sampler Platter, featuring Hawaiian heritage foods of kalo, Moloka’i sweet potato and ulu.
We include all-you-can-drink chilled soda, juice, filtered water and up to three cocktails per adult, with a choice of local Maui microbrewery (Maui Brewing Co.) beer, plus wine and tropical well drinks including our famous Mai Tais.
During whale season (December through April) we'll also listen to the songs of humpback whales, picked up live from whales in the area via our underwater hydrophones. It is truly one of the best adventures on Maui!

2. Valentine's Dinner Cruise

Do something truly special on your Valentines Day; head out onto the ocean for a romantic evening with Pacific Whale Foundation’s Valentines Day Dinner Cruise! The Valentine’s Day Dinner Cruise departs from scenic Lahaina Harbor, with guaranteed outdoor seating for all (as well as indoor seating for those who prefer it). Passengers aboard the Valentine’s Day Dinner Cruise will enjoy a delicious three-course dinner, cocktails, live music, dramatic views of the West Maui Mountains and the islands of Maui County, and the unparalleled beauty of a sunset at sea. You’ll even be able to watch for the spouts of courting humpback whales as you raise a toast to the power of love. Entrees will be accompanied by baked spinach dip with fresh taro breadsticks, fresh medley of island grown greens with Maui onion dressing, rice pilaf, and sautéed carrots and zucchini. Special, decadent Valentine’s Day desserts, tea and Maui Oma coffee will round out the meal.

4. Whale Photo Safari
(Sunday, February 14 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m)

Join Pacific Whale Foundation researcher Annie Macie and noted wildlife photographer Monica Sweet on a whalewatch photo safari from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. aboard the Ocean Explorer from Lahaina Harbor. With a capacity of just 49 passengers, and stadium style seating, this vessel is a favorite of wildlife photographers year-round. Participants will get hands-on training with state-of-the-art digital cameras from Canon and will receive a DVD of all images and video collected during the safari. Participants will receive expert advice on capturing whale images and learn about utilizing the latest digital photo techniques and data storage. Please bring your cameras. The cost of the photo safari is $99.95.

5. VIP Whalewatch With International Experts

See the whales on a VIP whalewatch led by some of the world’s foremeost researchers, scientists and environmentalists. The whalewatch led by the presenters from the "Watching Whales, Saving Whales" Symposium will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. On the double-deck power catamaran Ocean Discovery from Lahaina Harbor. 6. Laugh At Da Park

Enjoy a night of comedy, music, and a delicious sustainable dinner al fresco at Pacific Whale Foundation's "Laugh @ da Park." This evening fundraising dinner will feature a three-course, chef-prepared sustainable foods dinner, live jazz by Fulton Tashombe Quartet, and an after-dinner comedy show by local radio celebrity and award-winning comedian, Augie T.
Maui Brewing Company is donating its local, microbrewery beers for the event, and Tedeschi Winery is also donating local wines. The menu will include: Ginger Tofu Wonton Pi Salad with Sesame Seed Dressing; Asian Pork Buns, served with sliced grilled pork belly, pickled cucumber slices, pickled shitake mushrooms, and Hosin sauce; Maui Cattle Company's prime rib, roasted with rosemary and served with horseradish sauce; locally caught, sustainably harvested Mahi-Mahi served Hawaiian-style, steamed and finished with hot peanut oil, fresh cilantro, ginger and garlic, shitake mushrooms and shoyu sauce; Oven Roasted Chicken Breast served with Garlic Hamakua Musroom Cream; grilled vegetables (zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant and bell peppers), marinated in Maui Onion dressing; and garden vegetable fried rice with locally raised teardrop tomatoes, asparagus, red onions and carrots.
