A Successful Day Of Learning And Fun In Ayampe!

After the hectic day in Machililla with many, many excited kids, we hopped a bus south to Ayampe for a smaller classroom at the school Ernesto Velasquez.  Ayampe is famous in the surf’s world to be one of the best surfing spot in Ecuador… which explain the hotels and restaurants of foreigners located along the beach. It was yet another misty, rainy day and as we approached the school, we weren’t sure if we were in the right place.  We didn’t hear the usual noise of instruments practicing for the parade of 31st august and children playing.   Luckily we were in the right place and we headed to the classroom to meet the teacher of 5th, 6th and 7th grade.

When we arrived, the children had another guest teacher, a teacher from Spain.  He was playing a game with them, seeing who could come up with the biggest list of animals that don’t live in Ecuador.  Some of the kids were very creative, listing things like kangaroos, and even dinosaurs.  We were excited to see how creative they would be with our presentation.

We started the slide show and were delighted by how much these kids already knew about whales.  They were attentive and engaged in the presentation.  They loved the videos so much that we showed one more than usual about the garbage continent and whale hunting.  We separated into groups to play the Whale’s Journey and to put together the puzzles.  The children enjoyed the games and wanted to play again and again.  Even the shark joined in the games, trying to eat a puzzle piece or two.

Was difficult to say goodbye because the children didn’t want to stop playing, they had so much energy!  We improvised a game called “Guest what marine animal I am drawing?”… and in the board appeared the octopus Paul and the crab Anderson…  It was another successful day of learning and fun!

According this educational topic section, I must confess that we, the citizens, still have so many more things to learn about the environment. I mean, we have grown our awareness toward the environment protection, we know from our trash removal worcester ma services how to select trash, deposit and get it carried away in safe conditions so that we don`t harm the nature around us. Because nature is a spectacular world. And I truly thank you for reminding us this thing every now and then, by means of your environmental activities.
