November 2014 Events at Pacific Whale Foundation
It’s the season of thanksgiving and we invite you to celebrate with Pacific Whale Foundation on our Thanksgiving Cruises from Lahaina Harbor, Thursday November 27. Also, our Making Waves Lecture Series on November 13 will feature PWF Founder and Executive Director, Greg Kaufman, leading a discussion on how to “Be Whale Aware”. And on Veterans' Day, November 11, our Education team will be offering a special Ocean Camp for kids in grades 6-8. Moonlight Tidepool Exploration

Brittle stars, urchins, octopi, oh my! Meet some of the fascinating creatures that roam South Maui’s tidepools at night during Pacific Whale Foundation’s Moonlight Tidepool Exploration. Pacific Whale Foundation Ocean Camp
November 11 (Veterans’ Day) from 8:00am - 4:00pm
For youth in grades 6 through 8, Pacific Whale Foundation offers a hands-on, minds-on marine science experience -- with lots of opportunities for fun in the sun! In addition to learning about the ocean and marine wildlife, campers enjoy such activities as surfing, windsurfing, tidepool explorations, snorkel cruises, beach trips, and more. Led by PWF’s experienced and enthusiastic marine educators, Ocean Camp’s adult to camper ratio is approximately 1:12. Camp rates are only $64 a day for PWF members ($80/day for non-members). Making Waves Lecture Series

“Be Whale Aware” with Pacific Whale Foundation Founder and Executive Director, Greg Kaufman. Greg is an internationally recognized leader in whale protection issues and a pioneer in marine ecotourism. This interactive forum will draw on his 35+ years of whale research and global advocacy. Welcome Home The Whales

Join Pacific Whale Foundation in honoring the return of the humpback whales to Maui on our annual "Welcome Home the Whales" Celebration Cruises! These two-hour Eco-Adventures depart from Ma‘alaea Harbor and are led by members of PWF’s research team, who offer special insights and expert interpretations of whale biology and behavior. Whale sightings are guaranteed, or you get a free ticket for a classic whalewatch. The cruise includes a free Jr. Naturalist Program for kids. Each party will also receive a free whale poster. Coral Reef Information Station at Ulua Beach
Daily (except Wednesdays and Sundays) from 8:00am – 11:00am
Free and open to all, Pacific Whale Foundation's Coral Reef Information Station at Ulua Beach in Wailea is staffed by an expert marine naturalist who helps you learn about the fish and marine wildlife that you'll see while snorkeling at this popular reef. Volunteering on Vacation
Volunteering on Vacation is a free program offered by Pacific Whale Foundation that helps you easily find meaningful volunteer projects to benefit Maui's outdoor environment. Volunteer for about half a day (or less) and enjoy access to off-the-beaten-trails and scenic locales where you can learn about the history and natural ecosystem of each area:

- Hoaloha'aina (South Maui) - Every Monday
