Maui's Keiki E.C.O. (Educating Children Outdoors) Day is a free, day-long event for Maui schools that brings schoolchildren together in a beautiful ocean side Kalama park, to learn about the environment and their role in protecting it. This event is hosted by the non-profit Pacific Whale Foundation, in partnership with Hawaii nonprofits, government agencies, community groups and Haleakala National Park. These groups work together to present outdoor, hands-on, science-based learning programs to the school classes participating in the event. This event will feature special youth environmental entertainment by Uncle Wayne Watkins and the Howling Dog Band.  Keiki E.C.O. Day aims to spark a life-long relationship between Maui’s schoolchildren and educators and their local environment. 8:30 am to noon.  Visiting families are welcome to participate, early registration is encouraged.  For information, please call (808) 249-8811 ext.1.
