Federico Gonzales Suarez: 3 Against 40!!!

On Monday the 22nd of August we went to another school in Machalilla, called “Federico Gonzales Suarez”.  It's quite a big school if compared with the others we've visited until now. In fact, it even develops on two floors! Like all schools, in the middle there is a big courtyard where kids can play during the break.

The director showed us the way to a huge class room, in which the two parallels of the sixth grade are only divided by a big black curtain... Therefore, it was easy enough to bring together all kids for our talk: while the three of us were preparing our presentation the kids got closer to the projector. As there were many children (there are 40 kids in the 6th grade of this school!) it was quite hard to keep awake everyone's attention. Also the noise of the drums and the other instruments coming from the courtyard (which never seem to be missing in these days of festivity of the County Puerto Lopez) didn't help us....

However, when we showed a small film to allow the kids to hear the singing of the whales they were all very interested and even got closer to be able to hear it better.

The games also managed to gain children's attention: “The Whale's Journey”, the puzzles and the puppets kept all the kids occupied... and even us! Asking and replying questions, handing out the games, helping the children to resolve the puzzles... and taking pictures of the younger kids who seemed to be attract like magically towards us... or better, towards our puppets: the whale, the dolphin, the shark and the turtle. Even the older kids were in love with the puppets, and wanted us to take pictures of them together with the puppets.

Every time that we visit a new school and meet new small friends we're surprised and happy about the way these children have fun and are fascinated by such simple toys and games... and we recognize that these games are our best tool to teach them things: the different classes of animals which live in the sea, the characteristics of the whales and what we all can do to protect them...

And class after class we get more and more convinced that with our talks we not only give, but also receive a lot: smiles, enthusiasm...

Digital volcano vaporizer is on $130 more expensive than the Classic Volcano. However, it gives you the ability to regulate temperature and has very convenient LED display.

By reading this article, I get to think about an interesting concept I learned about a few years ago - lifelong learning. Oh, isn`t this one of the most obvious, beautiful and altruist examples of lifelong learning you have heard about? Because so I see it. I admire these parents who see education as a must have and show so much patience and obedience into learning things about the nowadays life as their children see it, not as they used to see it when they were young and things were far more different. Society was guided by some slightly different values.

Look at me, I had to give up college for a couple of years because I had to work, but I was very determined to complete my studies one fine day. I did so. I applied for the leadership certificate when I was still young and even so, I found it hard to bridge some gaps of knowledge and readjust to the learning schedule. That`s why I admire them.
