Aloha to the Whales Cruise Offered on May 15

As a wrap up to what is considered by many to be an "excellent whalewatch season," Pacific Whale Foundation will be holding its annual "Aloha to the Whales" cruises on Wednesday, May 15.  These cruises are the last whalewatches that Pacific Whale Foundation will be offering this season. The "Aloha to the Whales" cruises will take place at 12:30 pm on Pacific Whale Foundation's vessel Ocean Voyager from Ma'alaea Harbor and at 2:00 pm on Pacific Whale Foundation's vessel Ocean Discovery from Lahaina.

"This is our way of bidding farewell to the majestic humpback whales that have added to the wonder and beauty of Maui this winter and spring," says John Gaskins, Customer Care General Manager at Pacific Whale Foundation. "Our first whale sighting of the season off Maui was at  9 am on Monday, October 15, 2012 about 4 miles outside Ma'alaea Harbor. It's been an amazing whalewatch season ever since, but now it's time to acknowledge that the whales need to be in Alaska, for a summer of feeding in those cold, northern waters."

The price for the "Aloha to the Whales" cruise is $24.95 per adult and $17.95 per child ages 7 to 12. Children ages 6 and under go free. Pacific Whale Foundation Members and Hawaii residents pay just $20 for adults and $15 for children ages 7 -12. Whale sightings are guaranteed, or you will get a free ticket for a regular Pacific Whale Foundation whalewatch that can be used anytime before May 15, 2014.

This special whalewatch will include narration about the whales and highlights of the season presented by one of Pacific Whale Foundation's  onboard naturalists. All guests will receive a free whale poster.

"We've been enjoying  great sightings on our  whalewatch cruises during the past few weeks, and we're expecting to see whales right through May 15," says Gaskins, noting that Pacific Whale Foundation's nine vessels on the water are in constant radio and phone contact and are especially skilled at locating whales in the area
