Advocacy & Education
Advocacy is a key part of our mission at Pacific Whale Foundation. Advocacy encompasses education -- sharing with others what we have learned about the marine environment as a result of more than three decades of ocean research.
Pacific Whale Foundation's education efforts include programs for children (from preschool through high school) as well as teacher-training programs. Our education programs take place in our Discovery Center classrooms, at sea and on shoreline field trips. We focus on inquiry-based learning, and work to cultivate a lifelong apprecation of science and the need for conservation.
Our education programs also include professional development training for marine naturalists and others in the marine tourism industry. We also offer free talks, slideshows and other educational programs to the public and produce free educational guides and publications about the ocean environment.
Pacific Whale Foundation's conservation team is also responsible for advocating conservation-minded choices in the community and among those who join us on our ocean ecotours.
